Obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and Bronchial disorder (name given to any disease that affects the bronchi’s as asthma or bronchitis) are diseases suffered by most people.
If you suffer any of these health problems, you should inform your dentist, supplying an updated list of medicines that you are taking (prescribe or not). The list should mention the medicine name, dosage and how often you take them.
Currently, dentists play a key role in recognizing the possibility of the patient suffering from sleep disturbances. Once symptoms of OSA are identified the dentist refers the patient to a doctor for a complete evaluation and definitive diagnosis, as well as to intervene in treatments, through orthodontia or in mere cases using mandibular advanced devices.
