Are you ashamed of your smile?

At Clínica Dentária de Lisboa we have the ideal solution!

Have you ever heard of Dental Veneers, “Dental Contact Lenses” or “Ceramic Covers”?

What are Dental Facets?
The dental veneers are very thin ceramic or resin films that are cemented on the anterior part of the teeth, allowing them to change their shape, size and color, giving them a natural appearance.

Types of Facets?
Nowadays there are 2 types of facets on the market:

1. Resin facets:
Facets can be of 2 types:
Direct – when they are done in the office.
Indirect – when made in the laboratory.
These facets, despite being more economical and easier to restore, have as disadvantages the fact that they are less natural and lasting.

2. Ceramic (porcelain) veneers:
The ceramic / porcelain veneers are made in the laboratory after molding the original tooth. These are “glued” / cemented to the natural tooth allowing to obtain aesthetic results much superior to the resin facets, being more durable and resistant. Their format varies according to the patient’s aesthetic needs, that is, they are individualized.

The “dental contact lens” or ultra-thin laminated veneer is a very thin ceramic blade, which varies between 0.2 and 0.5 mm in thickness, being indicated for those who want to correct small problems of texture, alignment, spacing or symmetry of the teeth.
This type of veneer is not very invasive because in most cases it does not imply dental wear.

Why use Facets?

Facets allow you to correct situations such as:
• Fractured or “chipped” teeth;
• Stained teeth;
• Worn teeth;
• Crooked teeth;
• Asymmetric teeth;
• Misaligned teeth;
• Translucent teeth;
• Teeth with spacing / diastema;
• Teeth darkened by devitalizations / endodontics / root canal treatment.

Benefits?
• Improved dental aesthetics
• Promote a more correct anatomy;
• Improvement of oral hygiene;
• Improvement of gingival health;
• Improvement in chewing and phonetics.
• Repair in case of stains, fractures.

How to clean the Dental Facets?
The cleaning of facets is the same as the natural teeth. Therefore, you should always brush your teeth two to three times a day with a fluoride toothpaste, floss and elixir. In this way, the accumulation of bacterial plaque is prevented, preventing the appearance of cavities and gum problems.

An Oral Hygiene consultation is required every 6 months.

How long do Dental Facets last?
The durability of dental treatments varies depending on their control in regular Oral Hygiene appointments.

Why Facets and not Crowns?
The facets have the advantage, when possible, of a substantial reduction in the need for dental wear, allowing to obtain high aesthetic results with less discomfort for the patient.
